Are Resistance Bands The Way To Go?

Over the past decade there have been a lot of options to choose from when it comes to workout equipment for the home. It seems like every other week a company is coming out with a new piece of equipment for you to use. The one thing that is becoming a must have is a set of exercise bands.

A resistance band is nothing more than a piece of rubber that is made to a certain thickness. The bigger the band the more tension it creates. Some bands being made right now have the same effect of lifting fifty pounds. When you get a set of bands you are giving yourself so many new exercises to do.

A lot of time people opt for the resistance bands instead of getting a big set of free weights. This way there are different levels of tension for you to work with when doing different exercises. Not everybody can do a bicep curl with a 50 pound dumbbell so they do not want to pay for it. It is hard to do. Most people like starting out with the bands because it gives them the chance to start building on their muscles and then they switch over to free weights. The reason is because when you use free weights there is resistance through the whole exercise. You are only going to feel it when you are pulling with a band while a free weight has tension on the up and down part of the rep.

As you get stronger with the bands you will want to switch it up to use a heavier one. You need to do this to keep your workouts challenging while doing biceps and tricep workouts. Your body will need the heavier band to get you the results you are looking for. Resistance bands are what you need for the P90X workout.

There is a lot to be said about resistance bands. A couple reasons to choose them are they take up less floor space, are much cheaper, and you do not need to buy a big rack to keep all of your free weights on. To start off with you should take a look at the P90X resistance bands as they come in a pouch for you to take with when you travel. If you are looking for a cost effective way to get stronger arms and a leaner upper body then resistance bands are the way to go.
