E-coaching is a form of coaching delivered through an electronic medium such as a computer connected to the internet. The ultimate goal of an e-coach is to be able to facilitate the growth of the client as well as develop his or her potential by helping them identify their needs, develop their goals, build strategies to achieve their goals, and provide support and boost their morale so that the goals would be reached.
Coaching is different from therapy because it is all about developing potentials and not resolving emotional issues. It is all about focusing on the present and working for the future, and not focusing on the past. Coaching is similar to mentoring, although there may be a small difference. Mentoring is said to be someone who is an advocate and helps a person get ahead in a particular organizational structure. How to become a coach, on the other hand, focuses on developing the skills and abilities of a person.
The scope of coaching is very broad because a person’s goals may be professional or personal in nature. If you try to search coaching on the internet, it would give you results on various specializations such as financial, business, life, executive, health and fitness, and many more. E-coaching can be used in a broad range of specializations.

The sessions can occur through online instant messaging such as Yahoo! Messenger. Some coaches utilize video conferencing. The coaches could email the clients before and after sessions about the preparation that they have to do as well as the materials needed. The clients, on the other hand, can email their coaches if they have questions.
