In Maui...try Faimont Kea Lani...they rooms are all suites.

In you are in Hawaii, try to contact the Ko Olina Resort. Runned by Marriott. These are time shares but sometimes you can rent a 2 bedroom suite which could sleep upwards to 6 people. The west side of Oahu is quite and the lagoons are heavenly.

In Maui, try the Marriot Vacation club in Kaanapoli. I just got back 3 days ago and it's wonderful

In Maui, try Mala, Sanset, Roy's. Good stuff.

When a question like this comes up you will be flooded with people saying they love this place or they hated this place. But in this case I can tell you the Maui Outrigger Eldorado (Kanapali) was awful. It had everything we wanted but let us just say the room was for my wife and I and well there was a 3rd guest. When you are awoken at 3am when somebody is in the kitchen eating food you have to wonder things. Whatever it was it hid very quickly. We had proof that there was some sort of animal and the hotel took 2 days to move us. They even laughed too. Sure you spend a fortune on a trip and they just laugh it off. I would recommend the kanapali beach hotel. They have reasonable rates and great hawaiian music every nite in the back.

We stayed at the Outrigger Aina Nalu in Lahaina. It was quiet and comfortable. I belive we payed $220 for a one bedroom with a small kitchenette. It is very close to Front street. Ahotel with a pool is not necessary in Hawaii as you have the ocean to swim in. Most of the resteraunts serve up delicious food. Definitely take in a luau. Outriggerhotels.com is the website. Aloha

I live on Oahu - and urge you to skip Maui all together. It's snobby, expensive and dull.

I really recommend Oahu, but if that's too busy for you, Kauai is a great alternative ... and not nearly as expensive, dusty or snobby (snotty) as Maui.

Embassy Suites Oahu or Kauai.

I think you should immediately search for condos in maui or kaui you can get condos which are less expensive with great amenities but may not have sea views. Preferabley you search with the key word vacation rentals hawaii. here I'm giving you one such link.

Aloha!

I live on Kauai but visited Maui two years ago. We stayed in a great condo in the town of Kihei, which has plenty of nightlife and is beachfront. Cute little town and very close to the high-end resorts and GORGEOUS Wailea Beach. Great shops there, too! Anyway, check out to find condos anywhere in the world, including Hawaii. :) I think Kihei would fill the bill perfectly for you.

A hui ho!
