Vacation ideas for my husbands 30th? Hawaii maybe?

cc asked:

Hi, I want to plan a nice surprise party for my husbands 30th. I have a couple years till then LOL (early much?). Anyway, part of his bday surprise is going to be a trip to Hawaii. I thought it would be a good idea to start looking around so I can find the perfect resort and get an idea of cost. He has been so good to me and works really hard so that I can attend school with out having to work. Now that I will be graduating I really want to do this for him. Any suggestions on specific resorts - I am open to 4 - 5 star places. On any of the islands. We are low key so being in a party district is not necessary and would prefer to be away from city type areas but still close enough to drive there if we want. I am planning on speaking with a travel agent but I am still looking for suggestions. Some other info: We will either do it in March (his bday) or August (our anniversary) and want to do scuba diving, ATV, horseback riding etc… And we live in the US (New england). Thank you so much everyone! Happy Holidays :)

Instead of staying at a resort, check into a cruise. This would enable you to see more since Hawaii is composed of several islands. I went with my mom a couple summers ago and we stayed on The Pride of Aloha (Norwegian Cruiselines). It was very nice. There was a pool, workout room, all you can eat buffet and many other things available right on the ship. The rooms were somewhat small, but we had just the standard room, so i’m sure you could pay more and get an upgrade to something more spacious. The ship travels during the night, usually, and you can get off during the day and go do things. The cruiseline has different excursions you can sign up for and they will transport you to and from them. The whole experience was wonderful and i would highly reccomend it. You get to see soo much! However if you are set on getting a resort, you should see if you can get one on Kuai’i. That was my absolute favorite island. It’s the one with the Fern Grotto and the rainforest-like scenery. The Big Island was my second favorite simply because there is so much to do. I would recommend going to Volcano National Park if you’re into that kind of thing. You get the opportunity to walk through a dried lava tube and walk on the dried lava of old eruptions. In some cases (if you’re lucky) you will get the opportunity to also see hot, flowing lava. This is one of the excursions i went on, and it was fantastic; however, you can do this by yourselves, too.
Hope this was helpful for you! Check out the norwegian cruise line website for pricing and details:
    Have a great time! (:
