When is the best time to plan a vacation to Hawaii?
citygirl79 asked:
Realistically I would love to go in the summer but with prices in Hawaii already very high I’m not sure if its necessarily the best time to go. This vacation is very important to me because I am going alone, doing something I’ve never done before and feel this is the time to take a vacation by myself. I’m planning on taking advantage of all the water sports, etc. I’d like something that’s an all-inclusive package at a high-end resort, what is my best bet? Give me all the advice you could give I will need it.
I definitely plan on staying in Waikiki Beach since one of the “water sports” I’d like to try and learn is surfing I’ve heard that’s the place to go. I don’t know if surfing is considered a water sport but maybe it is. I also want to swim with the dolphins are there any activities in Waikiki Beach to do that also?

Look at SpinCityTravel.com hit book travel and look under vacation packages. I just got flight hotel and car for $880!
Depending where you are from you may want to avoid winter and go to Hawaii. The weather is pretty consistent there

Create a video blog…instantly.
I don’t know if there are all inclusive resorts in Hawaii? At least ones that include alcohol.
I’d just comment that going in January/February to Maui is nice because the gray whales are their having their calves. You can see whales breaching and diving etc.. right from the beach.

Usually prices are highest in Feb and March. Summer is good, because everyone already has nice weather. It’s not ever really hot there, but hottest is Aug and June.
I will go with you if you need a guide!!

I have been to Oahu, Hi in May (early May) four times, once in April, and then last Sept (2006).
May has the nicest weather I think.
Plan early (maybe in Jan) go on Expedia.com and you can find package deals.
Since you are going alone, stay around the hotel after dark.
If you are going to be going to stay in the Waikiki Beach area, you will be fine.

Hawaii resort
Springtime and Autumn are the cheapest times to go. There are fewer tourists at these times. Summer is very crowded and flights can run close to $1000 roundtrip from the mainland. You will get more personalized service in the spring and fall. Rent a car and drive the shore of the islands you visit. the smaller islands have fewer paved roads. Oahu has 3 highways and plenty to do whereas maui is much more serene. Don’t worry you will meet other solo travellers and have some people to hang with.

After Easter till around June airfare/rooms are cheaper & weather is awesome. Hawaii only has a couple all inclusive resorts (only 2 that I can think of & none on Oahu) Hotel will let you sign activities/food to your room within the resort. Sept. is always the most humid month. Oct. - Nov. is nice weather & cheaper than summer or winter. Jan. - Feb. rainiest, busiest & most expensive months (it’s still 78F in the rain).
Aloha, Have Fun!

So my suggestion for what I believe is a high-end resort is The Kahala. Which is found on Oahu, at Honolulu. They have a lot of great packages going right now, so you could probably go what time of the year you want to. Check my source, which is their official website.
They have Dolphin Quest, where you can swim with dolphins.
I’ve done this there, it was great. They provide a surfing class and a scuba diving class. They also have parasailing and kayaking if you were thinking of trying that.
I suggest you attend one of their cultural classes too, so its more like a Hawaii experience. They have ukelele, hula and lei making classes.
Its a beautiful resort, with also an awarded spa. They had won Best New Spa in America in 2003. The beach is nice, the rooms are gorgeous. If you are willing to spend your money on it, this is the place I suggest you take your vacation at.
